Gospel musician, Hagar Darkey and her foundation, the Hagar Darkey Ministries of the Royal House Chapel at Michel Camp have donated medical equipments and other health items to the MTN Maternity ward of Tema General Hospital to help facilitate effective maternal care.

The team who made the presentation on Monday during the holiday also spent time to break bread with the women in the labour, patients as well as nurses and doctors at the hospital. They served them with breakfast before making the massive donation.

The Hagar Darkey Ministries blessed the hospital with nine pulse oximeters, two baby cots, a refrigerator, suction machine and bags of baby diapers.

Speaking after the donation, Mrs Hagar Darkey said the team was inspired by the Biblical scripture in Matthew 25:36 to extend a helping hand to the hospital.

The Senior Midwife Staff of the Maternity ward, Priscilla Adu was grateful for the donation and thanked the Ministry for making their holiday a memorable one.

Principal Nursing Officer, Juana Boakye described the suction machine as a life saviour for the ward.

She said, “The Suction Machine is a lifesaving tool, it’s a machine that can go a long way to save many lives. The suction machine is something which should be I al the wards and we are grateful for bringing it to us.”

The Hagar Darkey Ministries are committed to helping the less privileged in the society and have previously donated to other institutions including the Akuse Local Prison.
